The most popular route to reach Burano island is by vaporetto line 12 from Fondamente Nove (journey time: approx. 45 minutes). As a more comfortable alternative, you can book one of the guided boat tours of the Venice lagoon islands suggested by isoladiburano.it, departing from St. Mark's Square or the train station, with Murano and Torcello included in the itinerary.
During the boat trip to the Venice islands a tourist guide will provide multilingual explanations carried out with a microphone. The cost of the round trip is included in the price, as is the seat. And no line changes are required: this makes the journey much easier and more comfortable than the option by public transport.
However, below we list all the various options for reaching Burano.

Departs from St. Mark's Square (S. Zaccaria). Journey time to Burano: ~1 h 15 min via Lido and Punta Sabbioni. Shorter if boarding at Punta Sabbioni (~20 min).
From Murano, make your way to the Murano Faro stop and board ACTV line 12 towards Burano. The crossing takes approximately 25 minutes with departures roughly every 30 minutes. This is also the natural route for travellers arriving from Marco Polo Airport via AliLaguna, who disembark at Murano Faro and continue directly to Burano without returning to Venice.
Tip: If you plan to visit both Murano and Burano in the same day, consider a guided boat tour: it covers both islands from a single departure point, with no timetables to manage.
Getting to Burano by car: Treporti or Punta Sabbioni
If you are travelling by car, the most convenient option is to park at Punta Sabbioni or Treporti and take the ferry from there. From Punta Sabbioni, ACTV line 14 runs directly to Burano in approximately 20 minutes, the shortest crossing available from any departure point.
Parking at Punta Sabbioni is available at a low daily rate, and from there you avoid the congestion and high costs of Piazzale Roma entirely. Some of the guided tours from Venice also include boarding at Punta Sabbioni, which is ideal if you are coming from Jesolo or the Adriatic coast.
From Punta Sabbioni you can also reach Torcello and Murano directly.
