We think that the most convenient and economical way to get to Burano is to book a boat trip to Burano, Murano and Torcello, directly on our Burano island's official site.
As well as being a tour of Burano, this excursion will also allow you to visit Murano and Torcello, its nearest islands. During the boat trip to the Venice islands a tourist guide will provide multilingual explanations carried out with a microphone.
From this year we have expanded the list of our Venice islands excursions introducing a tour limited to two places, focusing the 4 hours to visit Murano and Burano only (this last option is available only starting from the 1st April until the 31st October).
However below we list all the various options for reaching Burano.
The international airport Marco Polo of Tessera is connected to Venice and Murano (the island of glass) by pubblic and private transportation (water taxi).
Public transportations
Alilaguna is the direct passenger waterbus service between Murano, Venice and its airport. The ticket's cost is about € 10, but you can also buy it directly on board with a little supplement.

Once arrived to Murano, if you're going to get to Burano or Torcello, you have to proceed to the "Murano Faro" stop and take the ACTV line 12 water bus which bring to Burano island. Otherwise, if you want to get to Venice or Venice Lido, you can continue your journey on board.
The Railway Station Venezia S. Lucia is situated in Cannaregio, near Piazzale Roma.
Public transportations
The boarding is in front of the Railway Station every 10 minutes.
ACTV's lines (Venetian public transport company) that bring to "Fondamente Nove":
From Railway Station to Fondamente Nove or Murano you will take about 25 minutes; from here to Burano others 45 minutes.
Simply take the boarding to Burano, Torcello, Murano and Fondamente Nove.

To visit Burano from Piazza San Marco in Venice, you can use an organized boat tour. The boat trip to Burano takes about half a day, it's cheap, and it will take you through the various islands of the lagoon near Burano, as Murano and Torcello.
